User talk:Song of the Dragon

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

To start off the discussion, let me say a few things. First off, that if you make a comment here I'll reply to it here, unless you request that I reply on your page. Second, I will be serious here, while editing, and during any discussions, unless I have good reason not to be. Third, please start all new conversations by using a new heading. Best regards.--Song

[edit] Username

You may want to consider getting a new username, this one is awfully close to administrator User:Jaranda's username. — Moe ε 23:08, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

It is? I'm sorry, I didn't know. I'll see what I can do about that. --Jen 00:49, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

There. This is me, but as Song. Now I need to go edit my nickname. Thanks for the save!--Song, or Dragon, but not Jen anymore. 05:31, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Adoption

Hello, Song of the Dragon! I see that you have expressed an interest in being adopted by an experienced editor. I accept your request, being an experienced editor myself. Whether you want to learn about wiki markup, find something to do, or just talk to somebody, I'm the one you can talk to - just leave a message on my talk page. Good luck with Wikipedia!--Gimme danger 08:13, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

Offer accepted without delay. You have yourself a student (adopted daughter-for-now, whatever). *bow* *Chinese gong* I look forward to learning from you.
...How do you change the template to read 'I've been adopted!'? Best regards.--Song 17:42, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
Nevermind, I looked it up on that link you gave me (thanks).Song 17:44, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
Huzzah. Well, I've looked through your most recent edits and you're doing great as far as I can tell. If you have any questions now or later, just ask. :-D --Gimme danger 17:57, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
How did you do that? I know that some users have pages of contributions, and that I can access my own edits by the buttons in the top right, but when I looked for User:Gimme danger/Contributions it didn't exist. (Yes, I closely examined everything to do with you that I could find before accepting. Sorry, but I needed to find out exactly who was asking to adopt me.) I didn't make a page form my edits. Yup, I have questions, and lots of them. I'll try to take it slow for a while.--Song 19:09, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
Mkay, so. There's no link on user pages to contribution pages. I find them one of two ways. One, they're always on diff pages and history pages. If you go to history, for example on the top of this page, you'll find a list of every edit ever made to the page and the editors who made them, with links to their talk pages and contribution list. Diff pages are pretty cool, you can read about them here. And then you can do it the manual way: type in Special:Contributions/User name unto the search bar or after the usual en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ in your browser. So, now you should be able to find my contribution page. Don't try to look through it... it's... long. Gimme danger 21:23, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
I see. Thanks for that. I did look at your contributions page, but as you said it's very long. From what I did see, though, I'm in good hands. I'll ask any more questions on your talk page, and you can answer them there, I'll check it. Thank you again. "This could be the beggining of a long and glorious friendship." (I have no idea who said that, having forgotten.) Best regards.--Song 23:58, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
It's the last line of Casablanca, roughly.--Gimme danger 00:04, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
Misquoted, as per my usual. Funny, as I have never seen that movie. I knew I was saying it wrong...ah well.--Song 00:08, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Redwall talk pages

Thanks for your contributions to the Redwall WikiProject. If you haven't already, add your name to the contributor's list, and welcome aboard! GlassCobra 21:02, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

Hey cool, somebody noticed! Thanks for the welcome! I'll add my name in a sec. Thanks again!--Song 21:03, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
No problem! To be honest, I'm the only other person that's done any work in a while, the project is mostly defunct. So it looks like it's up to me and you to make it great again! You up for the challenge? GlassCobra 21:11, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
/salute/ Sir yes sir! I'm up for it! What first? Currently I'm making sure each Redwall article has the WikiProject template on it.--Song 21:13, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
That's a good start. Take a look at the main project page for more stuff that you can help out with! I'll be adding stuff when I can too. Drop me a line on my talk page if you have any questions, okay? Good luck! GlassCobra 21:29, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
Cool, no problem. Actually...but I'll save it for your talk page.--Song 21:48, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

Yup, that sounds good! Let me know what you'd like me to do, okay? GlassCobra 21:58, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

Sure, that's fine. How long will you be gone for? Are you going on vacation or something? GlassCobra 22:27, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
Ahh, okay, well I hope you had a good time! Don't worry about the names, I was happy to do it; I actually had previous dealings with one of the guys already. Anyway, just drop by whenever you like, we'll be here! GlassCobra 19:58, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome to the League of Copyeditors

I'm very sorry I haven't had a chance to welcome you earlier, I have been incredibly busy lately. We are glad to have your help. Currently, we have really cut down the backlog of articles in need of copyedit. Therefore, a major goal at this moment is to identify new articles that are in need of work. When you run across them, be sure to tag them for copyediting.

If you have any questions at all, do not hesitate to drop me a line. Trusilver 06:30, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

No matter, It's perfectly okay Trusilver. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the welcome!--Song 02:11, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject Redwall Roll-Call

Hey there! Your username is listed on the WikiProject Redwall participants list, but we are unsure as to which editors are still active on the project. Your name has therefore been moved to a "Potentially Active" list. If you still consider yourself an active WikiProject Redwall editor, please move your name from the "Potentially Active" list to the "Active Participants" list. You may also wish to add {{Wikipedia:WikiProject Redwall/Userbox}} to your userpage, if you haven't done so already. Conversely, if you do not wish to be considered a member of the WikiProject, leave your name where it is and it will be moved to the "Inactive" list. If you wish to make a clean break with the Project, however, you may move your name to the "Inactive" list. Thanks! ~~~~

[edit] American films

The lists have just begun and most details as yet are empty. Note though that many have world films in them and the foreign films need taking out. It is for American films only e.g American films of 1985 had an Indian and Argentine film in etc. These should be rmeoved. Good work though anything you can do for these articles would be of great help ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 10:30, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Okay. I will try to remove the non-American ones, but please help me do that. Oh hey, it's Spetember! Drat. Anyways, that's not important right now. I'm working on it, but it is really draining. Thanks.--Song 18:35, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] League of Copyeditors roll call

Greetings from the League of Copyeditors. Your name is listed on our members page, but we are unsure how many of the people listed there are still active contributors to the League's activities. If you are still interested in participating in the work of the League, please follow the instructions at the members page to add your name to the active members list. Once you have done that, you might want to familiarise yourself with the new requests system, which has replaced the old /proofreading subpage. As the old system is now deprecated, the main efforts of the League should be to clear the substantial backlog which still exists there.
The League's services are in as high demand as ever, as evinced by the increasing backlog on our requests pages, both old and new. While FA and GA reviewers regularly praise the League's contributions to reviewed articles, we remain perennially understaffed. Fulfilling requests to polish the prose of Wikipedia's highest-profile articles is a way that editors can make a very noticeable difference to the appearance of the encyclopedia. On behalf of the League, if you do consider yourself to have left, I hope you will consider rejoining; if you consider yourself inactive, I hope you will consider returning to respond to just one request per week, or as many as you can manage. Merry Christmas and happy editing, The League of Copyeditors.

[edit] BRC

You've been invited. GlassCobra 08:09, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

GC. Seriously. Not only would my mother kill me if I posted a picture of myself on the web, but that area has so many crude remarks it's offenseive for me to even look at it. It was kind of nice to be invited to a cable, though. Song (talk) 05:35, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
PS: I'm back! *doom* *crazy grin*
