Sonsón

Sonsón is a municipality in the Colombian department of Antioquia. Sonsón is located in Eastern Antioquia. It is one of the seats of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sonsón–Rionegro.

In the early 1900's, Sonsón was the second city in Antioquia after Medellín, the capital, it had many factories, and most of the rich people in Antioquia had business there. But around 1930, people start migrating to other municipalities which were nearest to Medellín.

Sonsón communicates with Medellín, by an excellent road. Also communicates with the municipalities of Abejorral, La Unión and Aguadas ( Departament of Caldas)

The municipality is divided into 106 veredas, and 8 corregimientos.

- Waterfalls there's many, some of them 30 minutes far away from the town
