Sonora High School is located at 401 S. Palm Street in La Habra, California, USA. As of the 2004-05 school year, the campus held approximately 2020 students. Though in La Habra, students come from La Habra, La Habra Heights, Fullerton and even Brea. Sonora rests in between Fullerton and Brea city lines, north to south.

Sonora High School promotes the success of all students in an atmosphere of mutual respect and caring by the following means: Educating students to their individual learning potential; Fostering in each student an acceptance of ethnic and cultural diversity; Promoting school spirit and school loyalty; Instilling within each student a commitment to the values of community and the American democratic society.

Sonora High School strives for excellence in academics, activities, athletics, and service by: Providing academically challenging programs for students with different interests and abilities; Providing a challenging array of curricular, extra-curricular, aesthetic, and athletic programs; Providing the tools to access, evaluate and use information from a variety of technological sources; Equipping students with the skills necessary for a successful transition to college and/or work.

Sonora's sports teams are known as the Raiders. They are members of the Freeway League in CIF Southern Section.

Sonora has a major rivalry with crosstown foes La Habra High School, the centerpiece of which is the annual football game between the two. The Highlanders hold a 25 to 7 edge in the series, and Sonora has not won since 2001.

Sonora's football team has an all-time record of 198-236-3, and won the CIF-SS AA championship in 1975.

Sonora field hockey was a powerful in the 1970s, winning two CIF-SS titles and finishing as runner-up twice.

In 2008 Sonora's Girls' Water Polo Team won CIF Championship. Their final game is most remembered for their win of one point made in the final three seconds against La Habra.
