Sonology

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sonology is a neologism used to describe the study of sound. The word is also used in the field of radiology to describe the practice of medical ultrasonography[1].

In terms of its meaning in the first context, sonology can relate to the study of sound phenomena in disciplines such as acoustics, electronic music, electronics, informatics, composition and psychology.

The Royal Conservatory of The Hague has an institute of sonology, and the High School of Music of Catalonia has a department of sonology.
