[edit] Campus

Sonoco has a beautiful campus with a cafeteria on site for hourly and salary workers. A main feature is the Centennial Statue that occupies the center of the parking circle at the main entrance. The statue depicts workers that represent the different divisions of the company. The base of this statue slowly rotates so that a different figure is presented on any given day or hour.

[edit] Employment

The company has approximately 17,700 employees in over 35 different countries.

[edit] Benefits

Sonoco uses Blue Cross Blue Shield and has one of the better employee healthcare plans in the region. Sonoco offers several different plans with reasonable rates. The only downside to the Sonoco healthcare plan is their decision to use mail order only for maintenance medication which puts a strain on lower income families due to the minimum three month prescription requirement. This decision has also had an impact on the community with several independent pharmacies closing as a result.
