[edit] Achievements
Sohn won the supporting television actress award at the 2008 Asian Excellence Awards for her character on The Wire. Her speech was:
“ | The fact that I'm standing here; it speaks a lot it says volumes about the Asian culture. That now the Asian culture is recognizing it's diversity, I'm a mixed race Asian. My mother came here over 50 years ago, and raised 3 children in the southern ghetto in the 1970's. And she was such a work horse, and I have to dedicate this to her. My mothers not here anymore, she passed away 10 years ago. But, she didn't pass away before she instilled me some very important Asian values. She taught me to live with honor, respect, and sacrifice for love. And I will live that way, always. Thank you so much.. | „ |
