SongwriterUniverse

SongwriterUniverse is an online music magazine which features interviews/articles with hit songwriters, artists, record producers and music executives. The site also hosts the SongwriterUniverse "Best Song Of The Month" Contest, which spotlights new songwriters/artists/bands each month. Serving on the Advisory Board of SongwriterUniverse are five hit songwriters, who have won or been nominated for Grammy Awards: Billy Steinberg, Brenda Russell, Jeff Silbar, Allan Rich and Jud Friedman.
SongwriterUniverse was launched in January 2001 by Los Angeles-based music executive/journalist Dale Kawashima, who continues to manage the site. Kawashima was formerly President of Michael Jackson's ATV Music publishing company (from 1987 to 1991). He has also represented the song catalogs of Prince, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Burt Bacharach and other hit songwriters. As a journalist, Kawashima has written articles for the Los Angeles Times and Cashbox magazine.
Notable hit songwriters & artists who have been interviewed in SongwriterUniverse include: Alanis Morissette, Holland/Dozier/Holland, Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil, Burt Bacharach, Ne-Yo, Miranda Lambert, Daniel Powter, Five for Fighting, Kara DioGuardi, Richard Marx, Kirk Franklin, Desmond Child, Bryan Adams, and Maurice White of Earth Wind & Fire.
SongwriterUniverse has a counterpart site, SingerUniverse, which is an online music magazine which spotlights singers, artists and vocal coaches.
