Sonchus oleraceus (Common sowthistle [1], Sow thistle [2], Annual Sow Thistle, Hare's Colwort, Hare's Thistle, Milky Tassel, Swinies) is a medicinal plant native to Asia and Europe, which can be eaten by swine. This plant is cited as an invasive species. [3] This is one of the species used in Chinese cuisine as kŭcài (苦菜; lit. bitter vegetable). [4]
