Sonatine (Ravel)

Sonatine is a piano piece written by Maurice Ravel from 1903–1905.
The piece is in three movements:
- I. Modéré ("moderated")
- II. Mouvement de menuet ("Minuet movement")
- III. Animé ("animated")
He wrote this piece for a competition sponsored by a magazine, which went out of business. He was the only entrant [1].[citation needed] The work was dedicated to Ida and Cipa Godebski; he later dedicated his Ma Mère l'Oye suite to their children.
