[edit] The band

Son of a Plumber is more than a solo project. It became actually a defined band, Son of a Plumber, with Per Gessle - vocals and guitar -, Clarence Öfwerman - keyboards -, Christoffer Lundquist - guitar-, Jens Jansson - drums - and Helena Josefsson - vocals -.

Clarence had been the Roxette's producer and Chris and Jens (Brainpool) participated on The world According to Gessle (1997). Helena Josefsson has been working with them since the "Mazarin" album (2003) and all together have recorded the new Gessle solo album in Swedish, En händig man (2007). They have been on the last Gessle tours too.

[edit] Musical Analysis

A lot of songs have typical Per characteristics (the lyrical romance and clever key changes), overall it has some of the feel of the Beatles White Album.

The tracks are generally musically simple. Beatles references can be heard in the music as well as the song including their name in the title. I have a Party In My Head demonstrates Per's love of rhyming verses.

The tracks include hooks, such as the guitar riffs or lyrical repetition (such as in Jo-Anna Says). In between the main tracks there are some 1 minute long instrumentals that lead into the following song. There is also a hidden track which is a reprise of Jo-Anna Says, that comes after 10 minutes of silence at the end of the album (only on the CD though).

The 'false' solo project become a duo with Helena Josefsson's leading vocals on "I have a Party in my head" or "Hey Mr. DJ"
