Antonia Ax:son Johnson

Antonia Ax:son Johnson, born in New York City in 1943, is the fourth generation of the family company The Axel Johnson Group, founded by her great grandfather in 1873. In 1982 she succeeded her father as chairman of the board for Axel Johnson AB [1], Sweden, and Axel Johnson Inc., Stamford, USA.

Antonia Ax:son Johnson’s conglomerate has interests in sectors as business-to-business trading of industrial products, energy and environment, real estate, retail trade and food retailing.

Antonia Ax:son Johnson attended Radcliffe College, Cambridge, Mass. as an exchange student and she holds a master's degree in psychology and economics from the University of Stockholm. She has been awarded the honorary degree of doctor of civil law, Bishop's University, Canada, as well as a doctor of humane letters, Middlebury College of Vermont.

She serves on numerous corporate boards, among others; Nordstjernan AB, NCC AB, World Childhood Foundation, Axel Johnson AB, Axel Johnson Inc., Axfood AB, Mekonomen AB, Axfast AB. She has also been named by Forbes' Magazine on its list of The World's 100 Most Powerful Women.
