[edit] Dave Mustaine

I think I read somewhere that Dave Mustaine wasn't upset about not being paid, but rather that they have used the footage of him with Lars with out his consent. He was also visibly upset that James Hetfield wasn't there, but that's besides the point. LyTe

I think that if nobody can provide Citation for Mustaine's "comments," they should be deleted. Trendkill 17:50, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

Just watched it last night, and I gotta say that Dave Mustaine piece is one of the most harrowing things Ive ever seen committed to film. Dave is visibly distressed and upset, yet I still think its strange that after sitting in a room with probably 2 or 3 camera's and boom etc. that he would be "suprised" that it ended up being shown somewhere? Is it possibly a case of "remorse" after realising the "frailty" displayed by someone whose image is "hard"? --85.158.137.195 11:41, 20 October 2006 (UTC)Lucas

That's exactly it, he regretted that his tough guy image would now be tarnished with his droogies (fans). I personally am a fan (esp. of the 85-92 material, for those who are picky about that kinda stuff), but Dave overreacted in this case. The whole last paragraph in this article needs to be changed. There was no controversy, just a very perturbed Mustaine. Gee, the Megadeth and Metallica camps/fans arguing... who woulda thunk it? The film makers do say in their commentary that Mustaine wasn't aware that it'd be filmed until he was actually there and getting off the elevator, but on the other hand, like was said above, if you're sitting in a room for 3 hours (according to the commentary) talking on camera, then you have to realise that it might get released some day. As far as having a release to use the material, I don't know. Though I've never seen *direct* evidence of this, for a couple reasons I assumed that they already had had Mustaine sign a release. 1) They mentioned that they had gotten releases from others (e.g. Pepper Keenan), and that they had kept the Keenan material out of the film until they had the release. And 2) when they contacted Mustaine later it was not to get him to sign a release, but rather to ask for material on Megadeth to sort of set up the scene and introduce who Mustaine was. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.95.169.117 (talk) 14:50, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Purple Prose Award

Or most pretentious rubbish ever to pass that slippery filter known as "NPOV"

What began as documenting the making of an album (St. Anger) became an unexpected voyage into the complexities of human relationships, and the power of the creative process to exact emotional tolls and ultimately, to heal the soul.

Agreed... looking around the net, it appears to come directly from a press release about the movie. I'm changing it to say something similar without gushing and being promotional. Neil Hunt 01:14, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Reception of the film

it should be noted that the film has very good reviews, and i dont from where is the info about the opinions divided thing, all reviews that i found are very positive, rotten tomatoes for example gave it 88 % and many other critics praised it. MetalCro (talk) 23:48, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
