Somerset Wind Farm
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Somerset Wind Farm is a wind power plant in Somerset County, Pennsylvania with six 1.5-megawatt (MW) wind turbines that began commercial operation in October 2001. The wind farm has a combined total capacity of 9 MW, but actually produces about 25,000 megawatt-hours of electricity annually which is roughly 30 percent of its maximum capable annual output. [1]
The wind farm is situated just one-half mile south of the Pennsylvania Turnpike which makes it easily visible to turnpike travelers. [2]
