Somerby, Leicestershire

Somerby is a small village 5½ miles south of Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. It has a population close to 500 and the parish church is All Saints. It is a country village containing a church, two pubs, farms, a large Equestrian Centre and a village shop/post office.
During WWII, the village was used as a base station and testing ground for the ill-fated assault on Arnhem, as depicted in the film A Bridge Too Far.
