"Someday (I Will Understand)" is a single from Pop singer Britney Spears originally released from the EP/Bonus disc of the Britney & Kevin: Chaotic... The DVD & More during the third quarter of 2005, though the song was later included in its Hi-Bias Signature Radio Remix form on the B in the Mix: The Remixes compilation.
"Someday" was written by Spears herself two weeks before she learned of her pregnancy with her first child, Sean Preston Federline. Spears plays all of the piano accompaniment on this record. The track was produced by Guy Sigsworth, who also produced "Everytime". The song also earned Spears an award for "Best Pop" at the Indonesia Magazine Awards.

"Someday (I Will Understand)" was generally very well-received by contemporary pop music critics. Billboard commented that Spears' "vocals relate the grateful time of a new born baby and future life a a child", and that "this potential song" has "a melody and lush production that carries the song into the clouds.[1] Blogcritics claims that song's "slow opening to a soft piano all the way to the spine-tingling bridge" is "one weeper of a ballad". The music video for "Someday" premiered on the finale of Britney's reality show Britney and Kevin: Chaotic. In the video, a pregnant Britney is found about her home on her bed and looking out onto her yard, which includes a statue of an angel and leaves falling from the trees. This was the first of Spears' videos to be shot entirely in black-and-white. Britney said that the best word to describe the video was "simplicity", and that both the song and video perfectly captured the point she had then reached in her life.
The video was directed by Michael Haussman and produced by Nina Wong for Person Films.

When the video for "Someday" initially hit TRL's airwaves and online music outlets in June 2005, it was met with a positive response. However, before long, the song and its video dropped in popularity and the single failed to make an appearance on the charts in the U.S.
No release date was set for "Someday" in major international markets such as the UK and Australia, though the single did receive airplay in areas of Asia, Oceania and continental Europe, including Austria,Romania and Switzerland and Mexico. The video was a hit on MTV Brazil reaching number 1 on the Top 20, similar to TRL in Brazil and reached #1 on MTV "Los 10+Pedidos" in Mexico (Mexican TRL) for several days. the song reached #34 on the Mexican Airplay charts.
