"Some Hearts" is a song written by Diane Warren. It was originally recorded by Marshall Crenshaw for his 1989 album "Good Evening". Another version, sung by Kelly Levesque, was featured in the 2001 movie America's Sweethearts. A yet third version was recorded by Maria Arredondo for her 2004 album "Not Going Under".
In 2005, it was recorded by Carrie Underwood as the title track of her debut album of the same name, and was the album's third single. It was released to pop and Adult Contemporary radio in the United States in November 2005, around the same time Jesus, Take the Wheel was released to Country Radio. It received moderate airplay at both formats, peaking in the top 40 on Billboard's Pop 100 Airplay Chart, and to #12 on the US AC Chart. It also reached #22 on the US Adult Top 40 chart.
Because the song had no accompanying music video and wasn't released to Country Radio, many fans do not realize it was ever released as an official single.
Underwood performed the song at the 2005 Billboard Awards, the half-time of the 2006 NBA All-Star Game in Houston, and during her promo tour for the album's release.
The song was also used in early commercials for American Idol's website during Season 6, until Daughtry's "Home" was used after Hollywood week.
