Somastate is a rock alternative metal band originally formed in High River, Alberta. The name is based on the fictional drug in Aldous Huxley's 1932 dystopian novel Brave New World and also refers to the Latin definition of soma or somatic which translated means "body". Somastate has gained quick popularity due to their strong melodic and heavy sound, and has enabled them to play large music festivals such as Warped Tour[1] and Junofest. They have shared the stage with acts such as Throwdown, My American Heart, State of Shock Secret and Whisper and 54-40.
