Talk:Solenoid valve

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It's a very good drawing of a piloted valve and a very good explanation of principles ofoperation. I didn't understand how piloted solenoid valves work until I read it. However, piloted solenoid valve is not the most basic kind of solenoid valve, even though it could be the most ubiquitous kind. Write-up for the basic kind is in progress.

[edit] need a little help...

with this... "Piloted solenoids usually need full power at all times to open and stay open, where a direct acting solenoid may only need full power for a short period of time to open it, and only low power to hold it."

Can't really come up with a good way to say that...
