Talk:Soldiers and Sailors Monument (Boston)

[edit] Page move
Last month, Soldiers and Sailors Monument was a redirect to Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument, which is a disambiguation page for several similarly-named monuments around the USA. Recently, an editor replaced this redirect page with a nicely-done article about the Soldiers and Sailors Monument on Boston Common.
I believe this was a poor choice, for several reasons:
- Google search suggests that the name of the Boston monument is not spelled consistently: sometimes it is "Soldiers and Sailors Monument", sometimes "Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument", sometimes "Soldiers and Sailors' Monument", etc. People looking for the Boston monument have no reason to look for it under any one particular spelling.
- Conversely, people looking for the other monuments with the same name, or with very similar names, would have ended up on the page for the Boston monument. As of today, there were two Wikipedia links to Soldiers and Sailors Monument: List of Registered Historic Places in Ohio and List of Registered Historic Places in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Needless to say, neither one intended to link to the Boston monument.
Accordingly, I have moved the article about the Boston monument to Soldiers and Sailors Monument (Boston), replaced Soldiers and Sailors Monument with a redirect to the disambiguation page at Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument, as it was before, and added the Boston monument to the list of such monuments on the disambiguation page.
