The Solano County Community College District, also Solano Community College or SCC, established in 1945, is a community college district with only one community college, currently composed of three campuses throughout Solano County in California, USA. It was formerly known as Vallejo Junior College and part of the Vallejo Unified School District in Vallejo until it moved to its main campus, in Fairfield, in 1971. Aside from the main campus, its two satellite campuses are the Vacaville Center in Vacaville, and the new Vallejo Center in Vallejo, which opened in a larger, new building on September 15, 2007, and was named after the late Bill Thurston, former trustee of the district. This move signaled SCC's return of a significant presence in Vallejo since the junior college years, as it previously held classes in a small library across town beforehand.
