Solo Island

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Solo Island is a small, rocky, forested island owned by Camp Timberlane in Lake of Two Islands. It is the only named island in the lake.

[edit] Uses

The island is used for overnight camping by Camp Timberlane during June, July and August.

[edit] Name

The island got its name due to the fact that when campers decide to overnight on the island, they do it alone.

[edit] Location

The island is located in the Southeast corner of the lake, which is an area which narrows and the lake ends. There is a sandbar which stretches about halfway to the island from the near shore and then becomes deeper as it approaches the island.
