Soli Deo Gloria is a record label associated with John Eliot Gardiner's activities as a conductor: the Monteverdi Choir, the English Baroque Soloists, and the Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique, which are all drawn together under the banner Monteverdi Productions. It was originally founded in 2004 for the purpose of releasing their complete recordings of the Bach cantatas which they had recorded in 2000 for Archiv Produktion, after that record label had decided only to release a small selection rather than the complete recordings. According to its website, the name Soli Deo Gloria is drawn from the initials that Johann Sebastian Bach appended at the end of each of his Cantatas, dedicating them to the "glory of God alone".[1]

The label has committed to releasing 51 CDs, each corresponding to one of the Bach Cantata Pilgrimage's concerts. Since its creation, the label has also published parallel endeavours of Gardiner and his forces, such as his Pilgrimage to Santiago CD, recorded after a 2004 tour following the Camino de Santiago.
