SolarWinds provides network management software that is used by more than 50,000 customers ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. [1] Founded in 1998, SolarWinds employs more than 170 people and is headquartered in Austin, TX, with European regional headquarters in Cork, Ireland. [2]

The company serves a network management software market estimated by Gartner to be approximately $4.95 billion in 2008 [3]. The Company’s management team is led by CEO Mike Bennett, a 30-year veteran of the network and systems management industry. Bennett has experience leading a number of private and public high-tech companies as CEO, including Mission Critical Software, Learmonth & Burchett Management Systems, Summagraphics, and Permeo Technologies. [4]

SolarWinds has an online community, Thwack, which is used by more than 15,000 network engineers to share ideas and technologies and participate in product development efforts. [5]
