Sokol (Russian: Со́кол) is a town in Vologda Oblast and administrative center of Sokolsky District (raion). 2002 population—43,042. The town is home to two large paper mills (Sukhonsky Tsellyulozno-Bumazhny Kombinat and Sokolsky Tsellyulozno-Bumazhny Kombinat).

The village of Sokolovo on the place of the town existed since at least 1615. In 1897, a paper mill was built near the village and Sokolovo became a townlet Sokol, the primary place of residence of the employees of the mill. The townlet officially got its town status in 1932.
