Sokodé is the second largest city in Togo, with a population of 86,500 (2004). Situated 339 kilometres (211 mi) north of Lomé, in the center of the country, in Centrale Region, between the Mo and Mono rivers, it is a commercial center for the surrounding agricultural areas.
Sokodé is home to the tem people.
The town is home to Semassi F.C., while other attractions include Sokodé Old Grand Mosque and the annual Knife Festival.
Sokodé is kotokro's hometown. He the first founder of sokode.
