Soil is a System of a Down song released on their self-titled album. The song was first seen back in 1996 on Demo Tape 2.
[edit] Meaning
The song is and stated many times before, about suicide and friends that die. One such theory is that in the Pre-SOAD band Soil, one of their members committed suicide forcing them to make a new band. This was later proven false because Soil's bassist, Dave Hagopyan is the current bassist for The Apex Theory and the drummer Domingo Larino is a current local band player in Hawaii. The other theory is that a very close friend from Serj Tankian's childhood committed suicide and inspired him to write a song about him.
