[edit] About
He has lived in the UAE, USA, Singapore and India at various times.
An eclectic sort of person, he is interested in world history (especially East Asian history), technology, religion, ideology, philosophy and food culture, among other topics.
He holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems from a major American university, a diploma of an accelerated software technologies course from a well-known Indian IT institute, and work experience at an industry-leading multinational corporation. He recently graduated a twin-city IT-focused Global MBA at a top-tier Indian B-school, while on break from the MSc in IT that he is pursuing with a research-based British university in the UAE. At present, he lives in Dubai and works for the leading business information portal in the MENA region.
[edit] On Wikipedia
I like Wikipedia because, having not been restrained by publishing costs or author salaries, it can grow in depth of detail and breadth of topics to the extent that its writers and editors have the passion to contribute. My own articles are fairly diverse, and some are fairly detailed as well. Many are about things I have experienced personally, which makes them a personal investment as well ... a blog with higher standard of quality and neutrality. I do recognize Wikipedia's limitations, and encounter them all the time - the detestable vandals, ideological edit wars, and students with essay deadlines. But I feel the benefits far outweigh the faults at this stage. This thing has the potential to become the closest thing we have to a repository of all the knowledge in the world, like that in Asimov's Foundation series. Wikipedia also has articles on the most obscure of topics ... that short-lived cartoon from the 80s, or that blip on the fashion scene in the 90s. This is what really makes it special. If I could choose a motto for Wikipedia, it would be, "Almost everything on at least some things, At least something on almost everything."

- After a long spell of minor edits, finally wrote the Navi Mumbai Holi riots article. I was passing through the city when it happened (beat a hasty exit when the curfew was called, thanks to my cousin), and I have wanted to write about it for more than a year. The final level of detail surprised even me. But it's not over; I will be digging out the local newspapers I bought at the time for even more information.--SohanDsouza 07:55, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
