As of 2001 India census^[2], Sohagpur had a population of 22,329. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Sohagpur has an average literacy rate of 72%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 79%, and female literacy is 64%. In Sohagpur, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.

There is a shiva temple. Here a beautiful stone statue of Lord Shiva and Parvati will make u stay there. Also a beautiful river named Palakmati flows from the centre of the town is the life line to the cityzens.
