[edit] Career

From August 30 to December 13, 2003, she participated in the show Star Academy France's third season, becoming a semi-finalist. She was very popular due to being quite charismatic and also having a particularly refined voice, with many critics and the professors in the academy considering Sofia to be not just the best that year, but one of the best students in the history of Star Academy France overall. However she eventually finished second to Elodie Frégé. From March 12 to August 7, 2004, she participated in the Star Academy tour, going to Tunisia and Morocco, and Papeete, Tahiti, where she celebrated her 20th birthday.

[edit] Other pursuits

Essaïdi moved to Paris to pursue her studies in economics and management at Université Paris-Dauphine (formerly Université Paris IX).
