[edit] Edits to your User Page

Hi... sorry to butt in on your converstions, but Wikipedia isn't actually Instant Messenger (or Google Talk or whatever). User pages and user talk pages are here in order to help the workings of Wikipedia, not as a substitiute for IM. Take a look at this for more information. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your user page, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's user page policy. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here? I'd appreciate hearing your views, such as your reasons for wanting this particular page and any alternatives you might accept.

There are several options available for resolving this matter:

  • If you can relieve my concerns through discussing it here, I can stop worrying about it.
  • If you decide to delete the page yourself, please add {{Db-userreq}} to the top of the page in question and an administrator will delete it.
  • If the two of us can't agree on what needs to be done, we can ask for help through Wikipedia's user pages for discussion, which may result in the page in question being deleted.

Thank you. FlowerpotmaN·(t) 22:20, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your user page

Hi again, Soccerpizzaman1. Look I don't want to have to bring this to WP:MFD, but a Wikipedia user page shouldn't be used for hosting a private (indeed a very private) club website. Can you read the messages above and remove the club stuff and if you want, you could try contributing to the encyclopaedia, perhaps? FlowerpotmaN·(t) 01:18, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] User:Soccerpizzaman1

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article User:Soccerpizzaman1, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of User:Soccerpizzaman1. • Hi Soccerpizzaman1! I've declined to delete your user page, as I assume that you are currently using it as a test page. Please note, though, that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and the main function of user pages is to communicate about the encyclopedia, eg topics you are interested in, wikiprojects you've joined, languages you can edit in, etc. General chatting that isn't related to the encyclopedia isn't really allowed here. Cheers, Espresso Addict (talk) 02:14, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Reply to your message

Just a quick reply to your message. In short, the policy on User pages is that they are used "to facilitate communication among participants in its project to build an encyclopedia". And let's be honest, you haven't actually contributed to the encyclopaedia yet.

You might want to read the What may I not have on my user page? and Wikipedia is not a blog, webspace provider, social networking, or memorial site policies for more information. I'll drop a copy of this message on your User talk page as well. FlowerpotmaN·(t) 00:49, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] User Page Edits

Please refrain from using your userpage as a blog. This is an unacceptable practice and you will be deleted if you continue. Please listen to my warning and the previous warnings on your talk page. If you wish to continue, you will be blocked. Dustitalk to me 17:43, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
