Template talk:Soccer icon
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I think this Template is BRILLIANT! It opens up loads of possibilities in my mind. The only trouble is, i'm unable to figure out how to create something like it myself. For example, I like the Trinidad and Tobago country data (Flag) because it takes up the whole soccer ball. But what if I wanted to use a Non-country flag (like a dive flag). Or what about Jamaica's flag, which apparently doesn't fill the soccer ball with color. What if i wanted to use a different image (a rugby ball for example). these are all questions i have about its use. Stephen 72.244.219.31 15:58, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- excellent idea, we dont need one icon for every country --Andersmusician VOTE 03:51, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, to answer your question:
- To use other flags use the sub template {{Soccer icon2}} setting country alias to the flag icon and size for the width.
- Very wide flags would require more masking, one has to choose a fixed value for how much to show. In the mask was bigger, you would see less of other squarer flags.
- You could make a rugby template by copying the {{Soccer icon2}} template here, and modifying the SVG.
