Talk:Socket AM3
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I think it should be noted that this is rummors and not something concreate yet, like: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD_K8L no?
K8L is confirmed and is proposed to be release starting from 3Q07-1Q08, but not Socket AM3/Socket M3. there are rumours that K8L will use Socket AM3/M3, similar to K8 supporting DDR2 RAMs using socket AM2, that the same action will be performed by AMD as K8L have been proposed to support DDR3 RAMs. --202.71.240.18 06:55, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
- The timeline seems off. All the recent info I have seen suggests AMD is aiming for K8L in 2007. If AM3 is really introduced with K8L, then it would seem likely it should come in 2007 not 2008. Perhaps we should make these details clear? Nil Einne 17:24, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
It seems to me that this page should be redirected to Socket AM2+, or at least include a link to that page, as mainstream technology media sources (that are closer to AMD than I am) mention that current Socket AM3 chatter really means Socket AM2+ for the K8L/K10 processors. Need to update this page considerably. A lot more stuff known about these chips.
[edit] Conflicting info
According to http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=3169 The info on this page regarding backwards-compatability is, well, backwards. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.42.102.246 (talk) 00:12, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
