Talk:Sock monkey
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There's a 32 year old sock monkey living in my attic. I made it in High School. It lived with me in the college dorms and kept me connected with my heritage. Its poor tail has been stretched to 12 inches and it's missing an arm. My children loved it till it lost an ear. I deserves a special hidey hole up in the attic.
I have a sock frog. It's like a sock monkey but it's a frog with eyes made of wooden beads. It's cool. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.108.8.5 (talk) 13:15, August 25, 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Sock Monkeys in Popular Culture
I trimmed this down. If the person isn't notable enough to have an article about him on Wikipedia, then the fact the he has some connection with sock monkeys isn't notable enough to put in this article. And saying that some movie had a sock monkey in a shot is really not that interesting either, and invites turning this into a giant laundry list of sock monkey sightings. —Chowbok 03:02, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
Should Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium be mentioned in this artice? A sock monkey is one of the more prominent toys in the movie and is part of the real world merchandising at Target. -pizzadinousar 16:27 November 23, 2007 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pizzadinosaur (talk • contribs) 22:27, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
Should it be menitoned that a Sock Monkey can be very breifly seen in the first Horton Hears a Who trailer? The mayor is sleeping with one.
As you can tell, I have no life, or friends come to think of it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 195.93.21.72 (talk • contribs) 19:55, November 12, 2006 (UTC-6)

Jim Carrey has continued to do many sucessful films to this day and has no plans of quitting. He even has a star on Canada's walk of fame!
But Jim isn't winning the "Canadian Role Model of the Year Award" based solely on his incredible acting, facial expressions, & diversified career. Those things alone make him star, but his many other qualities make him a role model. Jim Carrey's determination during his childhood, having to struggle through school while working at a factory trieing to support his family. & all at the age of 14! And even though his acting career wasn't going anywhere & it would have been much easier for him to get a normal job & support his parents but Jim never gave up on his dream of making people laugh. Today Jim Carrey shows his charcter in other ways. He is a philanthropist, donating his time & money to different charitable organizations, most recently he's been advocating for Autism with his girlfriend who has a child with autism. And just four months ago Jim released a video on Youtube protesting the imprisonment of a Nobel Prize Winning peace activist in Burma & also protesting Burma's army who have recruited many child soldiers, destroying villages, & forcing over one million people to flee. He has been an inspiration to many aspiring actors including myself. Jim Carrey shows us that you decide what you want to do, it doesn't matter whether you came from a rich home or a poor home if you work hard enough & that's why he is recieving this award tonight. But first we have a brief slide show.
So without further adieu I would like to present Jim Carrey, who couldn't be here today, with the Civics Institutes Canadian Role Model of the Year Award! Accepting the award for Mr. Carrey is Canaan Legault. I would like to accept this award on behalf of Jim, who had more important business, if he were here I'm sure he would be honoured at recieving this prestigious award. On behalf of him I'd like to say thank you to everyone who made this possible! Thank you everyone! That's all the awards we have for this year, see you next year!
