[edit] Notability

I really don't understand why an article on this game, or the subject of this game, is deemed 'not notable' (the reason for its previous deletion). Before I or someone else puts more work into this, can someone help clarify the issue? --Peter Kirby (talk) 01:34, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

The page at that time was probably no more than it is now - no indication is given that this will pass our notability criterion. In a nutshell, it needs reliable secondary sources, reviews from trustworthy sites or publications. There are sources such as [1] and [2], though they're not quite as 'reliable' as many would like, but they should be fine if coupled with more mainstream sources. There's a book where the developer has been interviewed, which in turn has been featured on the reputable website Gamasutra [3] < there. Oh, and sod me, here's an interview conducted by 1up, another respected source. And an article from online gaming magazine The Escapist here.
The notability is there, the bottom-line with wikipedia is "say it with sources", they're the materials for constructing articles. Finding them should be the first part of writing any article, supplying or citing them in some way should go hand in hand with article creation. The second stage is to check out quality articles on similar topics (so check out RuneScape and other MMOG articles). I'd say go ahead, and if you want more advice then contact the videogame project or drop a note on my talk page. Hope that's of some help. Someone another (talk) 15:33, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for the intelligent feedback. I will look into this more (and write for the article) in January. It is of a little interest to me as a (not heavy) user of the game and also as a potential MMORPG developer myself. I do understand that any Wikipedia article must be based on sources, not 'vouched' by my experience, but it will be impossible not to let my experience color the selection of sources. Hopefully others will pitch in too. --Peter Kirby (talk) 13:15, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

It's a good thing you're willing to write that article (if you still are) the link to the sociolotron [1]

I personally say it isn't worthy of the work, it's a game stuck in the past and they charge you for their crap graphics O.o —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.97.93.145 (talk) 18:31, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
