Society of Sport & Event Photographers (SEP) Formerly known as the International Association of Professional Event Photographers, SEP is a private, non-profit association dedicated exclusively to serving the needs of sport and event photographers. SEP marshals the resources of the event photography industry and delivers them to its members via their exclusive online content, Action News publication and live events.

Dedicated to helping event photographers become more successful, SEP is the only trade association that focuses all of its efforts on your photographic specialty. Its mission is to provide members the education and resources necessary to help them become more successful. With approximately 1,000 members, SEP provides benefits to help members establish themselves, increase business skills, and expand technical knowledge. SEP reaches out to its members, the community, and the industry in a variety of ways.

Business Advice: SEP provides a plethora of information on every aspect of the rapidly evolving sport and event photography business through the Members Only section at www.SEPsociety.com. Plus, members are linked to a network of like-minded professionals across the country, who are happy to share their knowledge.

Business Protection: Members have access to discounted insurance policies, like Equipment Insurance, Business Liability, and Health Insurance, which are specifically designed for photographers. In addition, members are given discounts on a variety of business services.

Continuing Education and Convention: SEP offers its members a significant discount to the premier sport and event photography conference in the nation. The Sport and Event Photographers Conference (SEPCON) is the single best place to get needed information through both educational programs and networking with other professionals. Educational programs are offered in the form of photographer-led seminars and workshops as well.

Copyright Protection: SEP’s Copyright & Government Affairs Department works in the halls of Congress, at the Copyright Office, in company boardrooms, and in court protecting members’ rights. SEP’s copyright specialists are also available to help members learn how to protect their rights and offer assistance when they are the victims of copyright infringement.
