Socialist Action

Socialist Action may refer to one of several socialist (mostly Trotskyist) political groups in several countries.
In alphabetical order (after country):
- Socialist Action Group (Australia) is a breakaway group from the Trotskyist Socialist Alternative (Australia). It has no formal international affiliation, but has its roots in groups aligned with the International Socialist Tendency.
- Socialist Action (Brazil) is the English translation of Ação Socialista, a breakaway from the Trotskyist United Socialist Workers' Party. It has no formal international affiliation, though its parent group is a member of the International Workers League (Fourth International).
- League for Socialist Action (Canada) was a Trotskyist organisation in Canada founded in 1961 and aligned with the International Secretariat of the Fourth International led by Ernest Mandel and Michel Pablo.
- Socialist Action (Canada) is a Trotskyist organisation in Canada that split from a descendant of the League for Socialist Action (Canada) and which stands in political solidarity with the reunified Fourth International. In Quebec the group is known as the Ligue pour L'Action Socialiste.
- Socialist Action/AKP (Germany) is the English translation of Sozialistische Aktion/AKP which was a member of the International Trotskyist Committee for the Political Regeneration of the Fourth International. It was founded as Working Circle Communist Politics, or as Arbeitskreis Kommunistische Politik (AKP) respectively, and is based in Mönchengladbach.
- Socialist Action League (New Zealand) is the former name of the Trotskyist Communist League (New Zealand). It is a former section of the reunified Fourth International and is now a member of the Pathfinder tendency.
- Socialist Action Party (Spain) is the English translation of Partido de Acción Socialista (PASOC) which is a left breakaway from the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE). The split from PSOE took place in 1972 and the official founding of the party was in 1982. In 1986 it participated in the formation of the so called United Left (Spain). The party has no formal international affiliation, though its parent group is a member of the social democratic Socialist International.
- League for Socialist Action (UK) was a small Trotskyist organisation in the United Kingdom from 1976-1982 in support of the Socialist Workers Party (United States).
- Socialist Action (UK) (also known as Socialist Action Group (UK)) is a small Trotskyist group in the United Kingdom that published a magazine of the same name until 2001. It is a former section of the reunified Fourth International.
- Socialist Action (U.S.) is a Trotskyist organisation in the United States which stands in political solidarity with the reunified Fourth International and is based in California.
