The Société Nautique de Genève was founded in 1872 with the goal of developing nautical sports and high level sailors. It is based in Geneva (Switzerland) and currently has about 3000 members.

It is the current holder of the America's Cup, which it won in 2003 and 2007 through its Alinghi syndicate.
