Sochaczew [sɔˈxat͡ʂɛf] is a town in central Poland, with 38,300 inhabitants (2004).
Situated in the Masovian Voivodeship (since 1999), previously in Skierniewice Voivodeship (1975-1998). It is the capital of Sochaczew County.
Sochaczew has a narrow-gauge railway museum with a line that runs out as far as Wilcze Tułowskie. Steam trains run back and forth on the line on Saturdays going chuff, chuff, chuff from spring to the end of summer. Although the line is 750mm gauge, there are a number of static exhibits in the museum of narrower and broader gauge.
