Soap-dodger

Australian slang for the English, due to the common practice of infrequent bathing and reuse of bathwater.

English homes typically have no shower, only a bath, though sometimes with a rubber shower attachment, which fits over the taps on baths and basins.

The pejorative, however, may be losing its currency as standard showers are starting to arrive, partly due to a recent renovation boom, and partly the mass influx of Polish migrants demanding higher living conditions.
