Princess Soamsavali Kitiyakara is the former wife of Crown Prince Vajiralongkorn. She was born on 13 July 1957 at Guy's Hospital in London, England, United Kingdom. She is the eldest child of Mom Rajawongse Adulkit Kitiyakara and HSH Princess Bandhu Savali Yugala. Her title at birth was Mom Luang. She is the niece of Queen Sirikit and the first cousin of Crown Prince Vajiralongkorn. They had one daughter, Bajrakitiyabha, and then divorced. However, she continued to have a high public profile after the divorce.

On January 3, 1977, at the age of 19, Princess Soamsavali was married to Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn. They are the parents of one daughter, HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha. However, the marriage had ended in divorce by the mid 1980s.
By virtue of a Royal Proclamation on 12 August 1991, her official full title became "HRH Princess Soamsavali Phravararajatinuddamatu", which translates as 'the mother of the king's first grandchild'.

Princess Soamsavali performs many royal functions on behalf of Their Majesties the King and Queen, HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, and HRH Princess Chulabhorn Walailak.
She has shown keen interest in public health and social welfare. The following Thai Red Cross Society programs are officially under her patronage:
- The "Reducing AIDS Infection from Mother to New-Born Baby" Programme.
- Medical Funding for AIDS patients.
- Funding for Reducing AIDS infection from Mother to the New-Born Baby.
- Milk funds for infants under the "Reduce AIDS effects from Mother to the New-Born Baby" Program.
- The Foundation of Professor Dr. Mom Rajawongse Kalayanakit Kitiyakara.
- The Program of Life Giving to the Parents of AIDS-infected Babies.
- Funds for Cancer Treatment in Children
- The Princess Pa Foundation
