[edit] Production

Girls Just Want to Have Fun was originally set to be the next single from The Cheetah Girls, and the song to appear on their upcoming second album. However, Walt Disney Records decided to release "So This Is Love" as a single in spring of 2007, with a music video as well. The Girls' label Hollywood Records (owned by Disney) then cancelled the release of Girls Just Want to Have Fun.

[edit] Music video

The Cheetah Girls made a music video for "So This Is Love" in March, 2007. The video was directed by Shane Drake and shot in two different locations, both in Los Angeles. [2] A shortened version of the music video premiered on Disney Channel on April 7, 2007, and the full high quality version was leaked to the internet that same day.

The video involves the three girls daydreaming and singing around their loft apartment and thinking about their boyfriends. Then, in between shots are taken of The Cheetah Girls at a small concert setting singing, and dancing for the crowd. The video has a different and more mainstream feel to it compared to the previous Cheetah Girl videos.
