"So Help Me Girl" was the third single by UK pop-star Gary Barlow from his debut solo album Open Road in the UK, in the US however it was the first single.
The track reached No.11 in the UK and No.44 in the U.S. In his autobiography My Take Barlow partly blames his focus on trying to break America for his downfall back in his native land.
The song was covered by German pop star Jamie Stevens in 2002 for his album Unbreakable.
It was originally recorded by country music singer Joe Diffie in 1994, reaching #2 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart and #84 on the Billboard Hot 100.
MUSIC VIDEO The song's music video has two versions : One with Gary with a girl in a house, which people find very dark, boring and ordinary but the video was reshot and the result is a visually stunning and romantic video featuring Gary in a garden, singing while sitting on a bridge.
