"So Cruel" is the sixth track from U2's 1991 album, Achtung Baby. Keyboards feature heavily along with The Edge's guitar. Similar in subject matter to "One" and "Love is Blindness", "So Cruel" is a song about broken love. The essence of the song is evident in its refrain: "You say in love there are no rules/Sweetheart, you're so cruel".
"So Cruel" has only been performed live three times, each time in abbreviated acoustic form during the Zoo TV Tour.[1][2]
