[edit] Talk:Asperger Syndrome

Really hoping you will come back and contribute to the discussion on some of the issues you raised. This article recently had a lot of unbalanced editing and though it retained featured article status the emphasis has shifted too far away from the reality of AS. --Zeraeph 11:10, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Yes, you are right, you fixed up a little punctuation...sorry, I got you mixed up with someone else. --Zeraeph 00:55, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome!

Welcome!

Hi, and welcome to the India WikiProject! We're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of India.

A few features that you might find helpful:

There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:

  • Want to know how good our articles are? The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every India article in Wikipedia.
  • Can you code? The automation department uses automated and semi-automated methods to perform batch tasks that would be tedious to do manually.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask another fellow member, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! S.D. ¿п? § 03:43, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hinduism in Finland

maybe you would like to expand it?--D-Boy 01:11, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

I don't live in Helsinki, so know very little about Finnish Hindus. The minority is tiny even there, so I'm assuming everyone practices at home. I have no contact with Finnish Hindus, so unfortunately I can't expand it:(. Om Shanti, ॐ--Snowgrouse 03:03, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Parvati Article

Hi snowgrouse, I was inspired by your work, and I noticed that you are active in the process of dissambiguating the information on some of the information of the Hindu Goddesses and filling out the detail. I need help on the work I did on my Parvati article. I made some corrections but I was unable to verify all of the details I provided. Could you check the page and help me fill in some of the citations? I live in a remote area and my library is in shambles due to people borrowing my books and not returning them. I was specifically trying to outline the particularities of Goddess Parvati which set her apart from Kali, Durga, Gauri, and Meenakshi. AaronCarson (talk) 09:54, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Shakti mantras

Hi, and thanks for the support for my article on Shakti mantras. It's all a bit up in the air at the moment, but if Wiki doesn't want it, I 'll put it on a web site. I put too much work into it to let it drop. Fascinated to see that you're into Kali. Have you tried the Kali mantras in my article? I've been using them a bit and they're incredibly powerful. I've been into Siddha Yoga for many years, but Om Namah Shivaya doesn't seem to be as powerful as the Kali mantras.

Have been wanting to get a picture of Kali, so I suppose I'll have a look on Wiki and the net.

What do you think of the idea of converting my article into an article on the book Shakti Mantras? Might be the best thing, because I'm not really the academic type.

Bye for now, Sardaka 09:25, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Kali

Nice addition to Kali. IPSOS (talk) 02:23, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Regarding your comment on the Kali talk page, you are absolutely right when you say that Kali's tongue is a symbol of shame for stamping Siva. That's bullshit, and its the first time I've come across that explanation. The more standard explanation that I've read and heard of is that Kali's tongue sticks out of her mouth because she needs it to drink Raktabija's blood and prevent any of it from falling onto the ground, because every drop that fell into the ground created new Raktabijas; although the Tantric explanation might be another gloss. Btw, on another note, as the Kali myth goes, she didn't stop her destructive dance because of Siva's 'cries' that shamed her but rather because when she danced over him in her frenzy, his penis entered her and that brought her out of her frenzy (even more male centric, I know!!). Several images of Kali all over India (though none on the website, sadly) show Siva's penis, quite graphically.Notquiteauden 22:33, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
