The original article said

It was started in 1934, and published in installments starting in 1935

and it was rewritten in the revision as of 02:38, 30 March 2006 by Boonrock [1] to

The novel began as a single short story published in a literary journal in 1934.

I can confirm the years of the former, but not the latter.

The author finished writing in 1947, with the last piece published in the year, but the novel reached its final form in 1948 when all the pieces were gothered into a single book and published.

Kawabata died in 1972, not in 1973 as was in the article (see Yasunari Kawabata).

[edit] Geography

Yuzawa is north of Echigo mountains (northeast of the Japan Alps), not west of the Japan Alps.

Arctic winds... I am sure that the winds come from the north, from the cold air mass originated in Siberia, but can they be called arctic winds?

[edit] the katakana homage

The different work by same name should be made into a separate article and cited on the disambiguation page and perhaps briefly here. Also should cite author. Can someone provide pls? Coughinink 03:52, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

I cannot find a copy of the Katakana homage on any website that I've browsed and have tried different Japanese websites to hopefully find the author. I think until enough information can be found about the homage, it should just stay as a blurb on this page. Darthjarek (talk) 09:18, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
