Snohomish County Volunteer Search and Rescue

Snohomish County Volunteer Search and Rescue (SCVSAR) is a search and rescue organization in Snohomish County, Washington, USA.
SCVSAR is made up of several specialized units as well as units distributed geographically within the county.
Specialized Units
- Everett Mountain Rescue
- Explorer Search and Rescue
- Project Lifesaver
- Operational Support Unit.
Geographical Units
In addition to the specialized units, SCVSAR deploys several coordinated special teams, including a Helicopter Response Team, K9 Team, Man Tracker Team, Mountain Bike Team, Water Rescue Team, and 4x4 Team.
SCVSAR operates under the coordination of the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office in coordination with he Snohomish County Department of Emergency Management.

- Complete an Emergency Worker Registration Card for the Washington Department of Emergency Management (printed forms available at meetings).
- Successfully complete FEMA IS-100 and IS-700 online courses.
- Provide contact information such as address, phone numbers and email.
- Bring a legible photocopy of a Washington state Drivers License, and the license from which the photocopy was made.
- Agree that a condition of membership is a favorable background check performed by the Snohomish County Sheriff Department.
SCVSAR is self-funded and relies primarily on private donations. SCVSAR is eligible to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions under U.S. Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(3).
