From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

While the jackelope, the honest politician, and the snowsnake are said to be modern mythological creatures, snowsnakes actually do exist. They are formed when wet snow falls on branches, and the weather warms rapidly. Wet, sticky snow is able to form delicate but stable forms, including ones such as the snowsnake shown here.
