[edit] Lesnaya

On what grounds do you consider it a draw, instead of a Swedish defeat? Sweden lost a lot more men and Lewenhaupts force was reduced when it met the main army, meaning Sweden had less men in Poltava. It was also a moralic boost for the Russians. --88.114.242.180 18:00, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Well, in the battle, the Swedes and the Russians lost about the same number of troops, but several thousens got drunk or disappered after the battle, because Lewenhaupt decided to leave the battlefield in the dark, and there was total chaos in the Swedish army. And also I woluld call it at tactical Swedish victory, because Lewenhaupt managed to fight back, even if he had less troops. But it was definitely a strategic and morale Russian victory. /Snillet 15:49, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
