A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Couric, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. [edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:HerbGrayWithParliamentaryColleagues.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:HerbGrayWithParliamentaryColleagues.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Remember the dot (talk) 00:12, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Newton High School (New Jersey)

Hi there! Noticed your edits to this article and wondered if you had info that I didn't. As far as I know, Kurt Walton has never been a vice principal at the school and has always been the athletic director. The school's directory lists a Kurt Weaver as VP and Nicole Georghalli as Assistant Principal. If you've no objection, I'll update it to reflect that info. :-) Cheers, Rkitko (talk) 03:29, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Kurt Weaver is the assistant principal at Halstead Middle School. Walton is at Newton High School. -- 16:38, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Ah, I wondered if the staff director page was giving me the whole district or just the school. Still, it doesn't list Walton as a VP or assistant principal. Might I ask where you're getting that info? Cheers, Rkitko (talk) 21:09, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
The info about Mr. Walton being assistant principal comes from the Newton Board of Ed. I have contact with school officials in Newton. -- 20:42, 20 January 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by SNIyer12 (talkcontribs)
Please do excuse my skepticism, but I wonder if they could have gotten it wrong. Even the School board's "administration" site states he's only the athletic director [1]. It's a rather minor point, I admit, but the school is my alma mater and striving for accuracy is important. Regarding your contacts, I wonder about WP:V - the written information given on the website, a WP:RS, indicates evidence contrary to your source. I'd much prefer to go with the verifiable rather than an unnamed, unwritten source. It's a moot point anyway since Alansohn cleaned up the infobox and removed Walton's name from the fields. [edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Trudeau Departing Hall of Honour.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Trudeau Departing Hall of Honour.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 02:32, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Alycia Lane

I have nominated Alycia Lane, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alycia Lane (2nd nomination). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. [edit] Fair use rationale for Image:HalifaxInternationalAirport911.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:HalifaxInternationalAirport911.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Project FMF (talk) 00:35, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:PaulMartinAddressingCanadians.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:PaulMartinAddressingCanadians.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

[edit] Image:BugsBunnyAndJennaElfman.jpg

I have tagged Image:BugsBunnyAndJennaElfman.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 22:51, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
