Snapper was a New Zealand indie/alternative band formed by Peter Gutteridge, previously in The Clean, The Chills and The Great Unwashed.

Gutteridge started out solo on a 4-track with input from Alan Haig and Dominic Stones (who went on to the 3Ds). He did a solo show supporting the Delawares, which drew Christine Voice to join and make the project a proper band.

Buddy from the bands self-titled debut EP became an indie classic.
